I Little Feat sono la quintessenza del gruppo rock “cult”. Fondati da Lowell George nel 1969, nel 1975 avevano già pubblicato cinque progetti. Il loro quinto album in studio, The Last Record Album, strizza l’occhio al grande successo di critica del 1971, The Last Picture Show, nel titolo e nella copertina – un’altra meravigliosa collaborazione psichedelica con l’artista Neon Park.Di gran lunga l’album più breve della band, con solo otto tracce in totale, The Last Record Album vanta comunque diverse composizioni essenziali dei Feat come “One Love Stand” (replicata da Carly Simon) e “Long Distance Love” (replicata da Elvis Costello per l’album tributo a Lowell George, Long Distance Love: A Sweet Relief Tribute to Lowell George).Con questa uscita, il trattamento Rhino Deluxe comprende un doppio LP, un’edizione 4CD e un’edizione digitale deluxe con gli album originali rimasterizzati e rimontati dai nastri originali, insieme a outtake in studio inediti, demo e rarità; le versioni CD e digitale deluxe includono uno spettacolo dal vivo inedito del tour corrispondente (in questo caso la tappa del 1975 all’Orpheum Theatre di Boston).
