Per celebrare il 50° anniversario dell’ambizioso album dei Grateful Dead del 1975, Blues For Allah, è stata prodotta la ristampa più ecletticada quando questa serie è iniziata nel 2017. La speciale edizione in 3 dischi presenta l’album originale sul Disco 1, rimasterizzato da David Glasser presso Airshow Mastering, con restauro del nastro e correzione della velocità a cura di Plangent Processes. Sul Disco 2, abbiamo quasi 45 minuti di materiale quasi live del 12 agosto 1975 al Great American Music Hall di San Francisco, il soundcheck il giorno prima del famoso concerto dei Dead in quel locale il 13 agosto 1975, il tutto mixato dai master analogici a 16 tracce. Inoltre, abbiamo incluso la suite completa di Blues For Allah dallo SNACK Benefit del 23 marzo 1975 al Kezar Stadium, dove i Dead tennero il loro primo dei quattro concerti del 1975, presentando per la prima volta uno dei brani musicali più selvaggi che avessero mai composto. Il disco 3 contiene 75 minuti di materiale live registrato nel giugno 1976 al Tower Theatre di Upper Darby, Pennsylvania, durante il primo tour dei Dead dopo l’uscita di Blues For Allah, e include tutti e cinque i brani di Blues For Allah che i Dead eseguivano dal vivo all’epoca: “The Music Never Stopped”, “Help On The Way>Slipknot!>Franklin’s Tower” e “Crazy Fingers”, oltre a mezz’ora di materiale aggiuntivo tratto dagli spettacoli. Questa ristampa per il 50° anniversario è ricca di tre ore di studio, soundcheck e materiale live. È una ristampa diversa da qualsiasi altra, proprio come Blues For Allah è un album diverso da qualsiasi altro.
