Questo nuovo cofanetto di 3CD celebra e documenta la prima era dei Floyd, quella post-Barret, il periodo in cui la band pubblicò album leggendari come A Saucerful of Secrets, Ummagumma, Atom Heart Mother e Meddle, e durante il quale realizzò una serie di straordinarie sessioni e spettacoli dal vivo per la trasmissione radiofonica in FM.
Il DISCO UNO contiene il concerto dei Pink Floyd del luglio 1970, registrato al Paris Theatre di Londra davanti a un pubblico invitato e trasmesso in diretta come “John Peel’s Sunday Concert” il 16 luglio 1970. I tagli bonus del disco uno comprendono la sessione del gruppo registrata e trasmessa dal programma Top Gear di Radio One il 2 dicembre 1968.
Il SECONDO DISCO comprende un altro “Peel Sunday Concert”, registrato nella stessa sede, ma un anno dopo, il 30 settembre 1971, e con tracce bonus da una seconda sessione di Top Gear, questa del 12 maggio 1969.
Il DISCO TRE conclude questo allettante set con il concerto che la band tenne all’Altes Casino in Svizzera il 21 novembre 1970, anch’esso registrato per la trasmissione in diretta FM e trasmesso in gran parte dell’Europa continentale.
