The Drifters hanno rappresentato un collegamento fondamentale tra il rhythm & blues degli anni Cinquanta e il soul degli anni Sessanta. The Drifters divennero il simbolo dello stile vocale di New York City, con il loro R&B morbido, ma al tempo stesso coinvolgente, intriso di influenze gospel. Questo cd riunisce due degli album migliori del gruppo, entrambi originariamente pubblicati per l’etichetta Atlantic: “Rockin’ & Driftin” (1959), che segna il loro primo Lp dell’era di Ben E. King, e “Save The Last Dance For Me” (1962). Entrambi gli album raccolgono singoli precedentemente pubblicati dall’Atlantic, alcuni dei quali risalenti al 1955. Questi due album sono stati rimasterizzati per questa edizione speciale che comprende anche 4 bonus tracks dello stesso periodo
